Building Foundations in J1

The first year of Junior College is a busy time for students, who are given 2 years before A-level or IB papers. At Aspire Hub’s tuition centres, we start preparing for the exams as early as this year, even while supporting their discovery of new concepts and topics on their chosen tracks.

General Paper (H1)

Aspire Hub’s focus in H1 General Paper classes is to show students how to consolidate their reasoning and communication skills to express ideas. As such, our tutors train students to exercise skills like analysis and argumentation to prepare them for the General Paper.

Maths (H1 and H2)

As Maths students tackle more advanced topics, our tutors provide in-depth guidance and breakdowns to support their learning in preparation for the Promotional Exams at the end of J1. We also personally guide them through the various answering techniques and solutions to prepare them for examinations.

Physics (H1 and H2)

From easier topics like measurement to more advanced one like nuclear physics, our H1 Physics tutors guide students in deepening their understanding of the forces in the world around them. We also help students see how that understanding can be applied in real life.

Chemistry (H1 and H2)

Our tutors help students adapt to the more complex lessons by breaking down key Chemistry concepts and theories into more manageable parts for students to master. Students are also trained in applying key ideas in the subject to queries, hypotheses, and more.

Literature (H1 and H2)

Our tutors expand students’ literary skills beyond S4 by introducing them to even more genres and heightening their appreciation of intertextuality. They also learn how to better identify as well as interpret ideas expressed in text, which helps prepare them for improved essay writing and analysis.

Economics (H1 and H2)

Here we familiarise students with the concepts, tools, and theories used in the subject, especially from a real-world standpoint. The goal is to improve their decision-making in light of economic realities and ideas, which also ties into their exam-readiness for the subject.

Hear from our students

Ms Victoria helps make my math life in JC easier. When I don't understand things from the math lectures in school, she will go through and reteach the concepts again to me so that I can understand them, hence allowing me to solve my questions with ease. She also helps me with my math homework from school. Yay she's a good teacher! :)

Emily Eng

Coach Yi Pei helped to boost my understanding of Maths and also increased my interest in the subject. She is a friendly and approachable teacher and has deep knowledge for her subject matter. Her methodical approach to teaching suited my learning style and helped me to attain an A in my A Levels.
